Monika Alff
Monika is a visual artist originally from Berlin. For the last three decades, she has lived and worked mostly in Scotland. At the end of 2021, she relocated to Gandia. As an artist, Monika has worked internationally in Scotland, Germany, Spain, Cyprus, and Canada. She loves colour and has a strong connection with the surreal and the semi-abstract and uses this approach to express ambiguous and manifold thoughts and meanings. An element of surprise is always good to lead the mind into different and new directions. Her collages and paintings are often concerned with political/societal issues and also with spiritual/philosophical ones. Occasionally she ventures into small sculptural projects and also enjoys experimenting with recycled/ found objects. Monika hopes people are stimulated to see their own meanings and find their own stories when viewing her work.
